Oneta Jones (NANA), 82, of Stephenville, died Wednesday, November 13, 2019 due to extreme complications during a scheduled procedure at UT Southwestern Hospital in Dallas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 18th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Darrell Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. The Jones family will host a visitation from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday at Stephenville Funeral Home.
Oneta was born on June 13, 1937 in Jal, New Mexico, to the late Henry Frank and Amanda Viola Mosley Broadway. She married Billy Fred Jones on December 25, 1952 in Dublin. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2018. Oneta treasured her many friends she had from working 17 years at Safeway, 2 years with Sears, and then 20 years at the jewelry counter at JC Penney where she smiled and greeted every customer with her precious spirit and energy.
We can tell you she lived her life to the fullest and would not have wanted a life with limitations because she always wanted to be giving and helping others. We can also tell you she went to that heavenly peace listening to "good old-fashioned Southern Gospel" as she requested that in the operating room.
Nana adored her husband and family and loved her many friends and her church family at Selden Baptist Church.
Survivors include her four children; daughter, Deena and husband David Ogle, and their family, grandson, Nathan and wife Brandy Ogle, and their son, Dalton; grandson, Noland and wife Cheyenne Ogle and their children, Garlon, Gracie, and Josie; granddaughter Kirsha and husband Trenton Hunt, and their children Kaylee, Tyler, Tayton, Tandyn, and Kynlee; Oneta's son, Kevin and wife LeAnn Jones, and their family, grandson, Jordan Jones and his fiancé McKinley Justis; Oneta's daughter, Kay and husband Tracy Wilcoxon, and their family, granddaughter, Krista and husband Barrett Hutchison, and their children, Holt and Hayes; and grandson, Chase and wife Laura Wilcoxon and their children, Luke and Ava; and Oneta's daughter, Linda and husband Mike Moncrief, and their children, granddaughter, Mikka and husband B. J. Hill and their children, Hudson, Brylie, and Maylin; and granddaughter, Macy and husband Kyle Tanner, and their son Grayson; sister-in-law, Neita Daughtrey; brother-in-law, H. D. Jones; and nephew, Whitman Ward.
Besides her parents, and her husband, Bill, Oneta was also preceded in death by a brother, Elbert Francis Broadway.
God has greatly blessed us all. We know that Nana is not in pain or discomfort any longer. Please pray for all of our family.
