Ollie Mae Crabtree, devoted wife and mother, died Sunday, December 27, 2009 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Hillcrest Church of Christ with David Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Services are under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home. Mrs. Crabtree was born on January 17, 1911, the daughter of Willie and Bettie Thompson. She grew up in the Panhandle of Texas with her three brothers and five sisters. God's Word was the guiding Light of this pioneer family. While attending Canyon College, she met the love of her life Fred Crabtree. They were married on August 26, 1933. To this union three children were born. She taught school in West Texas and later was a full-time homemaker. She and her husband, Fred, made a wonderful Christian home for themselves and their three children. She was always there with her calm, loving personality. She was truly a rich blessing for her family and friends. Survivors include one sister, Elsie Wilson of Sudan; her daughter, Hazel Allen and husband Charles of Stephenville; daughter-in-law, Pam Crabtree of Dublin; son-in-law, Charles Butler of Abilene; grandchildren, Lisa Butler, Charlsie Sterry and husband Clint, John Allen and wife Amy, James Crabtree and wife Amy, Joyce Holland and husband Kenneth, Cary Cundiff, a foster son of Pam Crabtree, David Allen and wife Amy; great grandchildren; Cassie Penn and husband Pat, Stephanie Sterry, Laura Allen, Brandon Sterry, William Holland, McKenna Crabtree, and Amber Holland; great great grandchildren, John Allen Penn and Seth Penn; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years in 1991. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Butler in 2007; son, Dr. Charles Crabtree in 2006; and a great granddaughter, Katie Marie Crabtree in 2001.
