Oliver Lee Young, better known as Daddy, Pop and Paw Paw, age 76 of Stephenville passed comfortably on May 20, 2021, surrounded by family in Fort Worth.
Funeral services will be held at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, May 23rd, at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation with the Family will be on Saturday, May 22nd at the Stephenville Funeral Home from 5:00pm-7:00pm
Lee was a loving husband to his wife Jerry Landes Young, whom he adored. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a true friend to many. God and family were the true loves of his life. He was a man of great integrity, kindness, humbleness and a great storyteller.
Lee was born on July 15, 1944 to the late Oliver D. and Estelle Young in Walnut Springs, where he grew up and went to school. Later he moved to Stephenville. He worked 40 years for Bruner Motors, where the Mayor of the City of Stephenville acknowledged his dedication in the workforce and proclaimed an official Lee Young Day.
He enjoyed working on his small ranch with livestock, riding horses, and spending time with man’s best friend his dachshund, Rascal.
Survivors include his wife, Jerry Landes Young; his children, Cindy and husband Barry Coggins of Allen, Carl Landes and wife Crystal of North Richland Hills, Nancy Landestrait of Roanoke, John Landes and wife Marla of Bradford, PA., Kathy Landes of Stephenville, and Terry Dobson and wife Tonya of Stephenville; grandchildren; Wade Coggins and wife Lara, Chelsea and husband Scottie Carr, John Logan Landes, Austin Landes, Blair Landes, Cason Coggins, Carissa Landes, Oliver Landestrait, Aydan Landes, Selah Landes, Jerrod Jennings, Jessica Greer, Jacobe Greer, Tatum and Tristan Dobson; 11 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Julia Milsap of Fort Worth and Helen Sorenson of Wichita Falls, and many nephews and nieces.
Besides his parents he was proceeded in death by his son, Ricky Lee Young.
