Olive Adams Morris, 88, a long-time resident of Abilene, Texas and of Hood County, Texas, passed away on February 19, 2014 in Plano, Texas. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 1:30 PM at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rock Church Cemetery. Olive was born on April 21, 1925 near Stamford, Texas to Seth Adams and Corine Ross Adams. She was baptized into Christianity in the Church of Christ. Olive grew up near Hamlin, Texas and graduated from Hamlin High School in 1942. Olive attended Abilene Christian University until early in World War II when she moved to Wichita, Kansas to support the war effort by working in an aircraft factory. Subsequently, she worked many years in the Southwestern Bell/AT&T telephone business offices in Abilene, Granbury, and Cleburne. Olive married Kenneth Wayne Morris on December 18, 1948. She was predeceased by her husband in 2006 and by two brothers, Warren, who was in the Army Air Corps and was killed in action in WWII and by Jon in 1961. Olive is survived by her sister, Jane Adams Cannon and her brother, Seth Adams, Jr. and by nieces and nephews: Cheryl Cannon Stewart, Allison Adams Jones, Jon Gregory Adams, Cyndi Cannon Pogue, William Steven Cannon, and Seth Adams, III.
