Ola Shelton

Ola Shelton, 98, of Stephenville, died Sunday, December 25, 2011 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jim Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Ola was born July 28, 1913, in Erath County to the late Reuben B. & Irene E. (Bunnell) McKinney. Ola married Delmer Shelton, in 1933 in Stephenville. He preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1997. She was a Baptist, and a lifelong resident of Erath County. Ola is survived by three daughters, Joyce & husband Bill Griffin, Jean & husband Kenneth Hook, and Mary Quarles. She is also survived by a brother Travis McKinney, and a sister, Ruby Jean Beverly. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. Ola was preceded in death by two sons, R.C. & Robert Shelton.
