Norman Glen ‘Shorty' Dove, 80, of Bluff Dale, died Thursday, September 18, 2014 in Fort Worth Harris Methodist. The family is honoring Shorty's wishes proceeding with cremation, and a family gathering. Shorty was born on February 9, 1934 in Stephenville to the late Loyd and Mada Hall Dove. He married Monette June Salmon in September 1956 in Fort Worth. Shorty was a rancher from the age of 16 years old. He was a foreman for Houston ranch from 1950 till 1956 when he was drafted into the Army. Shorty came back to work at Houston ranch in 1958 to 1967. In 1967 to 1995, he was a foreman at Triangle ranch in Bluff Dale. Shorty enjoyed calf roping all of his life. He was a member of the Texas Senior Pro Rodeo, the National Old Timers Rodeo, the U.S. Calf Roping Association, and many others. Shorty is survived by his wife, Monette; son, Dale Wesley Dove of Bluff Dale; daughter, Marqueta Parker and husband Will of Stephenville; grandchildren, Matt White of Bluff Dale, Casey White of Bluff Dale; Crystal White of Dallas, Devon Clint Dove of Atlanta Ga; , Neil Dove of Denver, CO; Dalton Dove of Stephenville; great-grandchildren, Madalyn and Sawyer White of Bluff Dale; sister, Joyce Barton of Forestburg, TX. In addition to his parents, Shorty was preceded in death by his brother, Wallace Dean Dove.
