Nora Laney Sims

Nora Laney Sims, 78 of Stephenville, died Thursday, June 23, 2011 in Fort Worth Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 25th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Weldon Branham and Richmond Goolsby officiating. Burial will follow at Duffau Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Nora was born on June 29, 1932 in Hiawassee, Georgia to the later Blane and Sally Arrowood Potter. She was a member of the Harvey Baptist Church, has lived most of her life in Erath County, and was a retired beautician. Nora was preceded in death by her first husband, Tommy Laney. Survivors include her husband Royce Sims; daughter, Rhonda and husband Jim Warmerdam of Arlington; son, Anthony Laney of Houston, grandchildren, Tonja and husband Abe Tiger, and Heather Oakes; great grandchildren, Waxin Tiger, Colin Oakes, and Delaney Oakes; sister, Irene Cook of Stephenville, and a niece, Elva Rogers of Hiawassee, Georgia. Family request expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the charity of their choice.
