Neon A. Stewart, 81, of Gordon, died Monday, October 11, 2021.

Funeral services for Neon will be at 10:30 AM Friday, October 15th, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at 2:30 PM, Friday at Benbrook Cemetery in Benbrook, with the Fort Worth Fire Department conducting the services.  Visitation with the Stewart family will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday at Stephenville Funeral Home in Stephenville.

Neon was born on March 27, 1940, in Fort Worth to the late Relice Henry and Lora Helen Baker Stewart.  He grew up in Fort Worth, moved to Morgan Mill, and later moved towards Gordon.  Neon spent 27 years as a firefighter with the Fort Worth Fire Department, and spent many years as a farmer in Erath County.  He loved to raise cattle, and he loved to fish.  Neon was a member of the Gordon Church of Christ.

Neon is survived by his sons, Nailan Stewart of Rhome; Aaron Stewart and his wife Hui Tong of Benbrook, and Derek Stewart and wife Irma Stewart of Benbrook; granddaughters, Cameron and Kara Stewart.  He also had many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends of the family that have filled his life with joy the past years.

Besides his parents, Neon was also preceded in death by brothers, Willard Stewart and Henry Stewart; and a sister, Christine Stewart.
