Neomi Pate

Neomi Pate, 96, of Stephenville, passed away Friday, December 19, 2008 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 22, 2008 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sharon Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at the West End Cemetery in Stephenville. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM Monday before the service at Stephenville Funeral Home. Neomi was born on February 5, 1912 in Oak Dale to the late Eber and Louida Moon Ray. She married Elzie Otto Pate on June 9, 1934 in Erath County and he preceded her in death on December 2, 2001. Neomi attended the Huckabay and Lingleville schools, and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and was an excellent cook and seamstress. She resided in Erath County most of her life. Neomi is survived by a daughter, Maida Lucas of Hico; granddaughter, Cindy Davis of Hico; great-grandchildren, Jamie Weatherford and wife Laura of Whitehouse, Kyle Davis and wife Katy of Arlington, and Kaleb Davis of Hamilton; great-great grandchildren, Macy and Lyndy Weatherford; nephew Wayne Ray and wife Charlotte of Ft. Worth; niece, Lou Cardwell and husband Allan of Aledo. She was also preceded in death by grandchildren Belinda Weatherford, and Galen Christian; and brother, Marshall Ray and his wife Bobby Ray.
