Nelva Wilfong Welch (Blondie) Ambriz

Obituary Nelva ‘Blondie' Wilfong Welch Ambriz, 69, of Stephenville, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 Friday, June 8, 2018 at Lower Greens Creek in Erath County with Jimmy Holleman officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am to 11:00 am before the service at Stephenville Funeral Home. Blondie was born on September 21, 1948 in Mineral Wells to the late Birch and Clara Evelyn Peach Wilfong. She was a graduate of Mineral Wells High School and attended Tarleton State University. Blondie worked for many years at the Stephenville Empire Tribune and retired from Walco International after 18 years of service. She has resided in the Erath County area most of her life attending the Double N Cowboy Church. Blondie married Poncho Ambriz on February 27, 1984 in Granbury. Survivors include her husband, Poncho of Stephenville; son, Mike Wilfong and wife Jodie of Stephenville; grandsons, Jake, Logan, and Austin Wilfong of Stephenville; sister, Jo Buckaloo and husband Johnny of Rio Vista; brothers, Bob Wilfong and wife Melanie of Aquilla and Harry Wilfong and wife Judy of Malakoff; and many nieces, and nephews. She was also preceded by a brother, Bud Wilfong.
