Nelda Daune Jeske, 93, of Stephenville, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, in Stephenville.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 30th at West End Cemetery with Don Parker officiating.
Nelda was born on May 3, 1927, in Eliga, Texas to the late James Madison and Annie Lee Sandlin Manning. She grew up in Star, Texas, and graduated from High School there. She married Gilbert Jeske on March 2, 1946 in Hamilton. Gilbert preceded her in death on February 22, 1998. Nelda was a member of the Graham Street Church of Christ. She loved to cook, garden, and loved to be with her family. She lived over 45 years in Star before moving to Stephenville in 1974. Nelda retired after 25 years of employment at Stephenville Bank and Trust (First Financial Bank).
Nelda is survived by her daughter, Vicki and husband Kurt Averhoff of Stephenville; grandsons, Kevin and wife Marcia Averhoff of Stephenville, Kyle and wife Michelle Averhoff of Garden City, Kansas, and K. R. and wife Robin Averhoff of Shallowater; great grandchildren, Kade, Kreed, Kamden, Breck, Lexi, Cooper, Lynlee, and Ellie Kate, and soon to arrive Collins; nephew, Brad Anderson of Granbury; and niece, Letha Shelton of Evant.
Besides her parents, and husband, Gilbert; Nelda was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, and four brothers.
