Nancy Kathryn Vandergriff, 73, of Huckabay, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 24th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at Huckabay Cemetery.

Nancy was born on June 8, 1947 in Stephenville to the late Robert Lowell and Patricia Langford Smith.  She attended school at Huckabay, and graduated from Huckabay High School in 1965.  Nancy married Allen Vandergriff on May 22, 1965 in Huckabay.  She and Allen lived over 45 years residing in California, and moved back to Huckabay 10 years ago.  Nancy’s life was very fulfilled. She was in the printing business and head of her union. She was a medical claims examiner and when she moved back to Texas she was a Beautician.

She loved gardening, antiquing, her animals, and spending time with her many friends and family.

Survivors include her husband, Allen; her children, Corinna and husband Robert Alandt of California, and Chad Vandergriff of Huckabay; grandchildren, Amanda and Mitchell of California, and Joseff and Chad of Huckabay; brothers, Bob and wife Debbie Smith of Huckabay, John and wife JoAnn Smith of Huckabay, and Jim Smith of Huckabay.

A saying Nancy loved and always lived by was, “Be somebody who makes everybody feel like somebody.”
