Myrtle (Thomas) Allen

Minnie Myrtle Allen April 21, 1917 - February 18, 2016 Myrtle Allen, 98, of Stephenville, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Valley Grove Baptist Church with Bob Knowles and Ward Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Myrtle was born on April 21, 1917 to the late Rufie Thomas and Zinnie Taylor Thomas. She married the love of her life, Roy Joe Allen on September 11, 1942 in Cleburne and together they raised a daughter. Roy preceded her in death on November 5, 1987. Myrtle was a manager, managing different business including motels, and furniture stores. She grew up in Gulbusk but resided most of the rest of her life in Stephenville where she was a member of the Valley Grove Baptist Church. Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Beverly Pack and husband Arthur of Stephenville; grandsons, Wade Pack and wife Heather of Cypress, and Chance Pack and wife Kandice of Stephenville; granddaughters, Julie Knowles and husband Bob of Albany; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Timber, and Jake Pack, Kassidy, and Brodee Pack, Seth, Salem, Sage, Shafer, and Sadie Knowles. She was also preceded in death by her great-grandson, Isaac on November 17, 2006.
