Monette June (Salmon) Dove

Monette June Salmon Dove, 85, of Bluff Dale, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.

Graveside services for Monette will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 15th at Clairette Cemetery in Clairette with Rev. Sharon Robertson officiating.

Monette was born on July 13, 1937, in Stephenville, to the late Conda Wesley and Patsy Ruth Etheridge Salmon.  She grew up in Clairette, and when she was 12 years old, her parents moved to Hico and established Salmon Department Store. Monette attended public school in Hico, and graduated from Hico High School in 1955. Monette married Norman Glen ‘Shorty’ Dove on September 8, 1956, in Fort Worth.  Shorty preceded her in death on September 18, 2014.  Monette loved to fish, and enjoyed bowling, and playing softball.  Most of all, Monette loved spending time with her family.  She was a homemaker, and has lived most of her life in Bluff Dale.

Monette is survived by her daughter, Marqueta and her husband Will Parker of Bluff Dale; sister, Pat Ross of Hico; grandchildren, Casey White of Bluff Dale, Matt White of Bluff Dale, Crystal and her husband Charles Paterson of Bluff Dale, Neil and his wife Paige Dove of Hico, Dalton Dove of Stephenville, and Devin and his wife Ashlei Dove of Evant; great grandchildren, Mady, Sawyer, John, Josie, Parker, Scarlet, and Olivia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents, and her husband, Shorty; Monette was also preceded in death by her son, Dale, on July 17, 2021.
