Mirl Geneva Howell

Mirl Geneva Howell, 91, formerly of Stephenville, died Monday, May 24, 2010 in Arlington. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Townsend officiating. Burial to follow at Oak Dale Cemetery in Erath County. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Friday prior to the service. Mirl was born April 1, 1919 in Stephenville to the late Thomas Earl and Bertha Vaughn. She married Troy J. Howell on October 25, 1935 in Stephenville. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1992. Mirl was a resident of Arlington from 1963 to 1975, then she and Troy moved to Mingus in 1976. She then moved back to Arlington in 1992 after her husband passed away, to be with her daughters. She worked as a bus driver for Grand Prairie High School for many years. She was a housewife Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Foster and husband George of Winnsboro, Tx; Treena Ackerman and husband Tom of Arlington; and Jana Howell of Arlington, grandchildren, Shawn Strohecker; Daron Strohecker and wife Jennifer; great-grandchild, Nikolas Strohecker; sisters, Earlene Davenport and husband Bill; Lolamay Daughtery, sisters-in-law, Charlene Vaughan and Betty Vaughan, brother, Kenneth Vaughn, and numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends.
