Mildred Louise 'Nanny' (Culwell) Eccles

Mildred Louise “Nanny” Eccles, 82, of Hamilton, died Friday, June 11, 2021, in Hamilton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 19th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Lower Green’s Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Mildred was born on November 5, 1938, in Rising Star to the later Willard B. and Lula Brown Culwell.  She married Leslie Lymon ‘Bob’ Eccles on June 16, 1958, in Newkirk, Oklahoma.  Bob preceded her in death on September 28, 1986.  Mildred lived in Stephenville from 1978 until 1992, and moved to Georgetown until she moved to Hico in 1995.  She has resided in Hamilton for the past five years.  She spent most of her life working as a cafeteria employee in the Stephenville ISD, and Hico ISD.

Survivors include her daughter, Gayla Gauss and husband Willian "Willy" Cook; ex-son-in-law, Brian Gauss; grandson, Chance and wife Jessica Gauss; granddaughters, Magen Gauss and Kailee Cook and her significant other Ricky Evans; great grandchildren, James Gauss and Elaine Bandy; sisters, Barbara and husband Homer Thomas, Frances and husband Billy Bennett, and Olean Agee; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, and husband, Bob; Mildred was also preceded in death by a son, James; sister, Mary Evelyn Wilson; brothers, Jim Culwell and Sonny Culwell.
