Mikie Lee Richey, 93, passed away on March 28, 2024, surrounded by family at the Celebration Senior Living of Denison.

Mikie Lee was born on July 20, 1930, in Stephenville, Texas, to Mike Roy and Irene Nancy (Stoker) Smith. After finishing high school at Huckabay, Mikie married the love of her life, Merle Dean Richey, on April 30, 1949, in Stephenville. They lived a happy life, raising a family together, as well as being a part of the Church of Christ, until Dean’s passing on December 20, 1986. Mikie was a caring homemaker and her family meant everything to her.

Mikie is survived by one son, Mike Richey and his wife, Tamie of Heath, Texas, her two daughters, Debbie Shaul of Denison, Texas, and Betty Story and her husband, David of Bells, Texas, her grandchildren; Michael Richey and his wife, Karen of McLendon Chissum, Texas, Shannon Orsborn and her husband, Randy of Wills Point, Texas, Elizabeth Files of Heath, Texas, Clayton Wood and his wife, Brittney of Carrollton, Texas, Deana Kirkham of Honey Grove, Texas, Kelly Hippie and her husband, Thomas of Frisco, Texas, Russell Shaul and his wife, Amanda of Heath, Texas, and Joshua Shaul and his wife, Amber of Bells, Texas. Mikie also leaves behind her great-grandchildren; Sydney Orsborn of College Station, Texas, Reese Orsborn of College Station, Texas, Broxton Files of Heath, Texas, Kingsley Files of Heath, Texas, Brinkley Shaul of Heath, Texas, Bryleigh Shaul of Heath, Texas, Brieana Martinez and her husband, Garrett of Jemison, Alabama, Braden Hippie of Frisco, Texas, Zachery Hippie of Frisco, Texas, Lane Wood of Carrollton, Texas, Bentley Wood of Carrollton, Texas, Cooper Wood of Carrollton, Texas, and Lincoln Wood of Carrollton, Texas, as well as great great-grandchildren; Whitley Martinez of Jemison, Alabama, Brantley Martinez of Jemison, Alabama, and Charley Martinez of Jemison, Alabama, and three nephews; Bob Smith and his wife, Debbie of Huckabay, Texas, John Smith and his wife, Joann of Huckabay, Texas, and Jim Smith of Huckabay, Texas.

Mikie is preceded in death by both of her parents, Mike and Irene Smith, her husband, Dean Richey, one brother; Pete Smith, her nieces; Nancy Smith Vandergriff, and Janine Smith, a sister-in-law, Pat Smith, and a son-in-law, Rodney Shaul
