Melvin Eugene Bernhoft

Melvin Eugene Bernhoft, 80, of Stephenville died Saturday April 19, 2008 in Stephenville. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Melvin was born on November 30, 1927 in Memphis, TN to the late Ernest and Ethel Roberts Bernhoft. He married Doris Malmstrom on June 2, 1956 in Mason City, Iowa. She preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 2005. Melvin has resided in Stephenville since 1994 and also resided in Granbury. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer for forty years at power plants across the country. He served in the US Air Force. He is survived by a four sons, Glenn Bernhoft of Granbury; Jerry Bernhoft of Beebe, AR; Mark Bernhoft of Davisville, WV; Robert Bernhoft of Dublin; two brothers, Ernest Bernhoft, Jr. of Shreveport, LA; Carl Bernhoft of Nesbit, MS, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ruth Ann Bernhoft, a grandson, Matthew Bernhoft and a brother William Bernhoft. Memorials May be made to the American Heart Association
