Maxine Dameron, 80, of Stephenville passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in Fort Worth. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dan Murray and William Foshea officiating. Entombment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery Mausoleum in Stephenville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Maxine was born February 22, 1930 in Bluitt, New Mexico to the late William and Zelma Lowe. She married Clayton Dameron on October 7, 1957 in Carlsbad, NM. She has resided in Stephenville since 1962 after previously living in Pecos. Maxine was a former Stephenville City Councilman, and member of the Zonta Club, was a member of the Investment Club, and member of First Baptist Church. She was a charter member of the Stephenville Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors which began in 1981. She served as president the Ambassadors in 1984, and was named Ambassador of the year in 1986. Maxine was an apartment and motel manager. She managed the Continental, Madrid and Landmark Apartments for many years. She was manager of the Holiday Inn when it first opened in Stephenville, and managed other motel complexes here in Stephenville. Maxine is survived by her husband Clayton; sons, Craig Dameron and wife Sue of Wellston, OK, and Cary Dameron and wife Cathy of Whitney; grandson, Darin Matthew Dameron and wife Amanda of Wellston, OK; great-grandchildren, Wynie and Clayton Matthew Dameron; sister-in-law, Laura Dameron of Bluff Dale; and several nieces, nephews and wonderful friends of many years.
