Max Leroy Hooks

Max L. Hooks June 2, 1933 - February 22, 2016 Max L. Hooks, 82, of Stephenville, died Monday, February 22, 2016, in Stephenville. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Oak Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 12 Noon on Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Max was born on June 2, 1933 in Stephenville to the late Jess and Mary Lawson Hooks. He was married on December 22, 1957 to Mary Frances Anders. Max was a member of First Baptist Church, a U. S. Navy veteran, and a lifelong resident of Stephenville. He was a dairy farmer. Max is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Debra and husband Clayton Dameron, Steven and wife Jennifer Hooks, Barbara LeJeune, Judy Bradford, and David and wife Denise Hooks, all of Stephenville; sister, Connie Read of Plano; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Max was preceded in death by 2 sons, William Bryan Hooks and Johnny Hooks; sister, Louise Fellows; and brother, James Hooks.
