Matthew Luke Martinez
December 3, 1980 - April 30, 2020

Matthew Luke Martinez, 39, of Stephenville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 30, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Tammy Rokus officiating. Visitation with the Martinez family will begin at 2:00 PM, one hour prior to services.

Luke was born on December 3, 1980 in Dallas to Joseph Martinez and Debbie Carter. He married Leon Santos Padroza on January 15, 2020 in Stephenville. Luke has spent most of his life in the trucking business. He loved to sing, and play the piano. Luke with his contagious personality, brought many smiles to his family and friends that he came in contact with.

Luke is survived by his spouse, Leon Padroza; father, Joseph Martinez; mother, Debbie Carter; brother, Aaron Martin; sister, Aimee Martinez; grandmother, ‘Grandma Honey'; his nephew and cousins; and especially his dog, Pugsy.

A life well lived is a precious gift of hope, strength, and grace from a man who has made our world a brighter, better place. Its filled with moments sweet, and sad, with smiles and sometimes tears. With lots of friendships formed and great times shared and plenty of laughter throughout the years. A life well lived is a legacy of joy and pride and pleasure a loving lasting memory our grateful hearts will treasure for a life time. Luke was all of these things and so much more. He was strong. He was a fighter. He was a believer. He was the love of my life. He will never be forgotten or lost from our hearts. He meant so much by his family and friends he cherished so very much. He was the smile everyone looked forward to. He was the warmth we craved in the winter. And the sunshine we loved so very much in the summer. He has and will continue to teach me daily of everlasting love. He is and will be loved and missed by more than the stars in the sky. To this world he may have only been one person but to me he was my world. And will continue to be. Forever and always.
