Mary Francis Metsgar October 6, 1946 - October 20, 2017 Mary Francis Metsgar, 71, of Huckabay, died Friday, October 20, 2017, in Erath County. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, October 23rd, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Williams and Billy Leonard officiating. Services are under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home. Mary was born on October 6, 1946 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to the late Roy Lee and Mary Margaret Schwartz Crew. She and her family moved to Texas when she was 4 years old. Mary graduated from Paschal High School in Fort Worth. She married Gary Metsgar on January 27, 1972 in Benbrook. She spent most of her life as an accountant, and as a young girl she was a member of the Travis Avenue Baptist Church. Mary had a love for reading, but what she loved the most was spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Gary; son, Shane and wife Kristi Metsgar of Huckabay; daughter, Karen Metsgar Torres of Huckabay; grandchildren, Makayla Metsgar and fiancé Matt Merket of Stephenville, Dustin Torres of Huckabay, Schyler Torres of Stephenville, and Sabra Torres of Michigan; great grandsons, Braxton Merket and Grayson Govea; sisters, Carolyn Crew and Candyce Crew Leonard both of North Carolina; and a brother, Tommy Crew of Burleson. The Metsgar family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to St. Judes Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.
