Mary Louise Scott Dougherty

Mary Louise Scott Dougherty, 80, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Harry Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Mary was born on July 21, 1928 in Johnsville, Texas to the late Elmer and Gladys Carpenter Scott. She married Ray ‘Buck' Dougherty on August 4, 1945 in Stephenville and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1985. Mary has resided in Stephenville since returning in 1981 after living the previous 35 years in Alaska. She was a member of the Johnsville Church of Christ and a homemaker. Mary is survived by sons, Michael Ray Dougherty and wife Mary Jane of California, Thomas Edward Dougherty and wife Diane of Japan; daughter, Anna Louise Dougherty of Alaska; grandchildren, Robert Sparks and wife Pamela of Washington, Niki Ann White and husband Steve of California, Joshua Dougherty of Alaska, Gitanya Ray Dougherty of Alaska, and Christopher Dougherty of California; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Erin, Cianna, Hunter, Amanda Jane, Dylan, and Scarlette; great great-grandchild, Soren; brother, Scotty; sisters, Katherine, and June Darlene; cousin, Dorotha; and adopted family, Angela, and Anneka. She was preceded in death by a brother, Julian Scott.
