Mark G. Davis

Mark G. Davis, 79, of Stephenville, died Saturday, July 10, 2021, in Fort Worth.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, JULY 31, 2021 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church

Mark was born on August 21, 1941, in El Reno, Oklahoma to the late Chester M. and Anna Fay Garner Davis.  After serving his country in the US Army, he married Karla Sue Baldridge on August 25, 1967, in Denver, Colorado.  Karla preceded him in death on May 18, 2005.  Mark had studied art at the University of Colorado in Boulder, earned his master’s degree at North Texas State, and had taught for 45 years at Tarleton State University. In that time, he led the art program, developed the curriculum for studio arts, and in 2007 received the OA Grant Excellence in Teaching Award.

Mark is survived by his sons, Mark L. Davis of Fort Worth, Russell E. and wife Kortney Davis of Stephenville; grandson, Mark Errol Davis; brother, Russell G. Davis of El Reno, Oklahoma; sister in-law, Sheri Davis of Stephenville; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Beside his parents, and wife Karla; Mark was also preceded in death by a brother, Col. Chester H. Davis.
