Marion Jo Mcalister

Marion Jo McAlister, 89, of Stephenville passed away March 4, 2014 in Stephenville. Graveside service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Rev. Bill Grisham officiating. Visitation: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Jo was born on December 6, 1924 to the late Arthur James Hutchinson and Minta Angeline Mathews in Stephenville. She graduated from Tarleton University and worked at L& L and was a home maker. Jo married J.P. (Johnny) McAlister on September 20, 1944 in Stephenville. He preceded her in death on April 12, 2000. She was a member of Washington Street Baptist Church, a member of the Woodsman of the World, and a lifelong resident of Stephenville. Jo is survived by her son, John Paul McAlister III and his wife Martha of Kirkwood, MO; daughter Marilyn McAlister of Stephenville; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
