Marie Stagg

Monie Marie Nation Stagg, 83, of Stephenville, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Marie was born on September 13, 1927 in Floydada to the late Wilburn and Velmarie Moon Nation. She married Riley Joe Stagg in Mineral Wells on February 22, 1978 and he preceded her in death on December 2, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Lee Roy Jones. Marie has resided in Stephenville since 1969 after previously living in Wellington. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wellington, and was a homemaker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Marie is survived by her daughter, Debra Bays of Stephenville; grandsons, Shaler Bays of Stephenville, and Jim Bays & wife Amy of Lingleville; great grandsons, Memphis Bays, and Jaxson Bays. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Jones; sister, Laura Nation; brothers, Earl Nation, Robert Nation; and son-in-law, Sam Bays.
