Marie (Sissie) Halbert

Marie (Sissie) Halbert, 97, of Stephenville, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at her residence. Graveside Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 24, 2011 at the West End Cemetery with Buddy Wells officiating. Marie was born on November 12, 1913 in Stephenville to the late Joseph and Anna Rawlings Carter. She married Robert Dixon Halbert on June 24, 1939 in Stephenville. He preceded her in death on November 1, 2000. Marie lived in Stephenville most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She graduated from Stephenville High and Attended Tarleton College. She was a teacher and a homemaker. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Brown Lapointe and husband Ron of Rowlett; grandchildren, Paula Palmer and husband George of Joshua; Greg Johnson and wife Lisa of Lawrence Kansas; Christi Kalldin and husband Drew of Rowlett; son-in-law, Paul Johnson of Slaton; great-grandchildren, Lane and Jordan Palmer; Trent and Haley Johnson; Logan Elkins; Nathan and Alex Marie Kalldin. She was preceded in death by a daughter Roberta Johnson on July 18, 1999. In honor of our mother please consider making memorials to the Foster's Home for Children.
