Marie Chisum

Marie Chisum, 91, of Stephenville, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, in Stephenville Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dale Cartwright officiating. Burial will follow at Lingleville East End Cemetery. Visitation will be 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday at Stephenville Funeral Home Marie was born July 4, 1918 in the School Hill Community to the late Thomas J. and Myrtle Crawford Wells. She married J. W. ‘Brown' Chisum, January 23, 1938 in Desdemona. He preceded her in death April 25, 1955. Marie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and a member of the Erath County Retired School Employees. She worked over 33 years in the cafeteria at Tarleton State University. Marie is survived by a sister, Pauline Tidwell of Fort Worth; several nieces and nephews, including, Todd Tidwell of Lake Worth, Clint Tidwell of Azle, Jennifer Sperry of Fort Worth, Luann Melton of Stephenville, Patricia Corbell of Maypearl, Dannah Procter of Lingleville, Horace Christian of Stephenville, and Fred Huffman, Jr. of Euless. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Rudolph Wells in 2004.
