Marcus Alvarez, Jr. 41, of Stephenville, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 in Fort Worth.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 9th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Kurt Plaxco officiating.  Burial will follow at West End Cemetery.  Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Marcus was born on February 23, 1979, in Baytown, Texas to Marcus Alvarez, Sr. and Maria Carmen Acuna.  He was a contractor in electrical work.  He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing.  His friends called him the “River Man”.  Marcus lived several years in the Houston area, and moved to Stephenville in 2005.

Marcus is survived by a son, William Ray Alvarez; parents, Marcus, Sr. and Carmen Alvarez, brother, David Alvarez; grandfather, Jesse Acuna; all of Stephenville; and many many cousins and friends.

Marcus was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, and his maternal grandmother.
