Mack Sorrells

Mack R. Sorrells, 84 of Stephenville, died Thursday, December 01, 2011 in Stephenville. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, December 3rd with a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 PM Saturday at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Hannah officiating. Mack was born on April 10, 1927 in Murphy, Texas to the late Wylie and Ruby Wells Sorrells. He married Patsy Reddell, May 19, 1951 in Fort Worth. Mack served during WWII in the Merchant Marines, and was a member of the Baptist Church. He has lived in Fort Worth, Brownfield and Bowie, and spent 42 years of his life in Stephenville. He was an Insurance Staff Manager for National Life Insurance Company for many years. Mack is survived by his wife, Patsy; sons, Malcolm and wife Collette Sorrells of Allen, Wiley and wife Tena Sorrells of Wylie, Mack, Jr. and wife Sherry Sorrells of Sunset; daughters, Susie and husband Joe Jeffers of Stephenville and Connie and husband Monty Banks also of Stephenville; sister, Ann James of Bonham; grandchildren, Melinda, Rhonda, David, Regina, Bryan, Jessica, Nathan, Sara, Shane, Shawn, Sarah, Stephen, Andrew, Marquis, Christopher, and Amanda; and twelve great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mack was also preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva and Helen. Family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
