Mack E. Mcleod

Mack E. McLeod, 85, of Stephenville, died Monday, September 9, 2013, in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 12th, at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Howard Martin and Mike Hannah officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Mack was born on December 20, 1927, in Augusta, Texas to the late Leonard Thomas and Emma Robbins McLeod. He married Laura Shepherd on August 25, 1950 in Huntsville, TX. Mack received his BS and MEd degree from Sam Houston State University, and received his Doctorate of Education from University of Texas. Mack was a WWII Army Veteran, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Stephenville. He has lived in Corpus Christi, Austin, and the past 49 years in Stephenville. Mack retired after several years as a professor at Tarleton State University. Survivors include his wife, Laura; daughter, Laura Leigh and husband Gary Davis of Andice; son, Tom and wife Stasey McLeod of Broomfield, Colorado; grandchildren, Madaline and Marshall Davis, and Dylan, Tori, and T. J. McLeod; brother, Pat McLeod of Bay City; and sister, Mamie Wilson of Wharton. Besides his parents, Mack, was also preceded in death by 6 siblings. The McLeod family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the First United Church of Stephenville.
