Lyndal Ray Cook

Lyndal Ray Cook, 71, passed away in Abilene on March 8th, 2025.

He was born in Gorman, Texas, on August 24, 1953 to Enoch Hooper Cook and Mildred Marie Craighead. He graduated from Carbon High in 1971, before attending Tarleton State University for three years from which he earned his associates degree. After college, Lyndal worked as an oil field worker for 35 years in Snyder, Texas. He married the love of his life, Lynda Kaye, on June 8, 1974 in Stephenville, Texas. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by his brothers, Jerry Cook and Weldon; Sisters in law, Wilma Faye, Martha, and Fredda; Daughter Jennifer; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Brother Jimmy Cook and Donald Cook; Nephews Tracey and Terry Cook; and Great niece Kenna Rachelle.

A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, March 12th, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Stephenville Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Norse Cemetery in Clifton, Texas, on March 13th at 2:00 pm with pastor Gary Williams officiating.
