Lonnie Wilson Burks

Lonnie Wilson Burks, 89, of Stephenville went to be with the Lord October 16, 2010. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Head, Gary Ward and Dr. Bobby Donohue officiating. Burial: Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville. Visitation will be held at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Lonnie was born on December 27, 1920 in Gustine, Texas to the late Hugh and Ella Rinehart Burks. He married Arminta Campbell on May 10, 2004 in Stephenville. Lonnie served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of Rocky Point Baptist Church. He has resided in Erath County and surrounding area all of his life. Lonnie worked for many years at South Western Bell as a communications consultant. Survivors include his wife Arminta Burks of Stephenville; Daughters, Mary Nell Burks of Apache Junction, AZ.; Janis Castaldy and husband Joe of Ruidoso, NM, and Carolyn Head and husband Tommy of Alvarado; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Voncile Burks, two sisters, Adele Peacock, and Estelle Bruner; a daughter, Linda Moore, and a grandson, Tim Head.
