Lois Shannon

Lois Shannon, 97, of the Duffau Community died Sunday, October 07, 2012 in Glen Rose. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 9th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. J. D. McDowell officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, at Stephenville Funeral Home Lois was born on October 20, 1914 in Granbury to Edwin Ross Locke and Margaret Pearl McKnight Locke. She married Fred Naylor Shannon, April 4, 1933, in Chalk Mountain, a marriage of 62 years. Fred preceded her in death on February 22, 1995. Lois was a homemaker, a member of the Baptist faith, and had lived most of her life in Erath County. Lois is survived by one son, Edwin and wife Judy Shannon; grandchildren, Judy and husband Jack Kelly, Chad and wife Teri Shannon, and Tracy and husband Darren Harris; six great grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Lois was also preceded in death by a daughter, Leona Boutcher; granddaughter, Linda Morrison; one sister and four brothers.
