Linda Sue Tate, 63, of Stephenville, died September 24, 2010 in Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Russell Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Linda was born, March 13, 1947 in Fortune Bend, Texas to the late Homer C. and Sarah Marie Russell Tate. She received her Masters degree in physical education at Tarleton State University and over 34 years taught and coached in public schools. She was a member of the Methodist Church, a member of the Retired Teachers Assn., an advocate supervisor for CASA, and tutored students at Foster's Home for Children. Linda spent most of her life in Erath County. She is survived by her brothers, Bill and wife Mary Tate of White Settlement, Jimmy Tate of Lipan, Bobby Tate of Stephenville, and Johnny and wife Kathy Tate of Stephenville; sisters, Tommie Tate of Stephenville, and Lou Ann and husband Norman Howell of Weatherford; nieces, Nikki and husband Steve Callaway of Dublin, Brandi and husband Wesley Nelson of Lipan, and Amber and husband Les Branson of Lipan; nephews, Robert and wife Rani Tate of Houston, Bret Tate of Buenos Aires, and Ryan and wife Kelly Tate of Dupont, Washington; great nieces and nephews, Aaron, Sarah, Kynzi, Zach, Brady, Ben, Tate, Taylor, and Bethany; and a special cousin, Don Edgman of Washington, California. She was preceded in death by brothers, Jackie, J. D., Carroll, Cecil, and Lee Evan Tate; and by sisters, Francis Ann Tate, Betty Jean Tate, and Shirlene Causey Family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to CASA
