Lillie Mae Taylor, 86, of Stephenville, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 in Stephenville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 16, 2020 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ramsey Cemetery in Erath County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Lillie Mae was born on December, 5, 1933 in Matador, Motley County to the late Martin and Lela Ann Taylor. She married Herschel Melton on May 26, 1951 in Stephenville and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1997. Lillie Mae graduated nursing school in 1974 working for many years for Stephenville Nursing Home as an LVN. She had previously worked as a cook in many places throughout Stephenville. Lillie Mae was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church in Stephenville.
Survivors include her daughter, Martha Brock and husband John of Stephenville; sons, James Melton and wife Alisa of Stephenville, Paul Melton and wife Minor Jean of Stephenville, and John Russell Melton and wife Karla of Sedalia, MO; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, David Melton; and 2 sisters.
