Lillie Arbelle Lowery

Lillie Arbelle Lowery, 100, of Stephenville passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Valley Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Ward Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at the West End Cemetery in Stephenville. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Stephenville funeral home. Lillie was born on November 8, 1913 in Moody, Texas to the late Jessie Floyd and Maggie L. White Miller. She married Chester L. Lowery on August 7, 1938 in McGregor, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1983. Lillie was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and had resided in Stephenville since 1940. She joined Valley Grove in 1950, when Dwight Lusk was Pastor, and was considered to be the oldest member at the time of her death. Lillie was a homemaker. Lillie is survived by her son, Clinton A. Lowery of Stephenville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five sisters, and an infant brother.
