Lillie Arlene Starnes Ator

Lillie Arlene Starnes Ator, 93, of Brady formerly of Stephenville, ascended into heaven on Friday, June10, 2011. Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 am Monday, June 13, 2011 at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville. A visitation will be held at 10:00 am until 11:00 am before the service at Stephenville Funeral Home. Lillie was born on February 22, 1918 in Erath County to the late Claude and Elizabeth Jackson Starnes. On April 2, 1940 she married Garland Ator in Stephenville and he preceded her in death on April 6, 1995. On Nov. 15, 1948 they adopted their one and only child, Teresa. She was their pride and joy, and she will love them forever. God brought the three of them together. Lillie was a homemaker all of her adult life and a member of the Graham Street Church of Christ. She lived in Stephenville for 82 years before moving to Brady where Teresa and her husband live. She lived in her own home until April 2011, when she went into the nursing home after losing her vision. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Leifeste and husband, Chris of Brady; grandsons, Terry Leifeste of Houston, and Linc Leifeste and wife Heather of Austin; great-grandchildren, Miles and Caleb Leifeste; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers, and two sisters.
