Leta Janes

Leta Janes, 84, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in Midland. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel . Interment will follow at Stag Creek Cemetery in Comanche County. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday at Stephenville Funeral Home. Leta was born on September 9, 1925 in Stephenville to the late T.D. and Bama Norris Mounce. She married and was preceded in death by three husbands, James Simmons, T.G. Lowery, and W.R. Janes. Leta has resided in Midland for the past eight years after living most of her life in Stephenville. She was a seamstress and a Baptist. She is survived by a son, Howard Simmons of Bayfield, Colorado; daughters, Virgie Rains and Brenda Noble of Midland; and brother, Troy Mounce of Levelland. Also, surviving are 9 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, & 3 great-great grandchildren. Leta was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Dale Mounce; 2 sisters, Lois Snow, & Beth Carr; and 3 brothers, Gene, Raymond, & Cecil Mounce.
