Leota Gay Rhoades

Leota Gay Rhoades, 89, of Stephenville TX entered in rest on August 15, 2024 in Stephenville, TX. Funeral Service will be 1 pm Friday, August 23, 2024 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel in Stephenvillle, TX.  She was born July 31, 1935, in Tolar, TX, the daughter of the late John and Leota Fay Cadenhead Bramlett. She married her late husband, Donald “Tom” Thomas Rhoades on April 4, 1953, in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Gay was a homemaker and mother of five children, three grandchildren, and six great- grandchildren. She and her beloved late husband “Tom” lived and raised their family in San Antonio, TX before returning to Bluffdale, TX in their later years. Tom and Gay enjoyed bowling and participated in many leagues for over 40 plus years. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a loving grandmother.

She is survived by two daughters, Anita G. Hale of Bluffdale, TX and Lisa Ann and husband Melvin Kosler of Norman, OK; two sons, Don Thomas Rhoades of San Antonio, and Joe Neil Rhoades of Dallas, TX; two sisters Jean Patterson of Joshua, TX and Ann Scherstuhl of Weatherford, TX; and brother Tommy Wayne Bramlett of Benbrook, TX.

Besides her husband and parents, Gay was preceded in death by her son Bobby Rhoades, brothers John David Bramlett and Frankie Ledbetter.
