Leona Shannon Boutcher

Leona Shannon Boutcher, 73, of Proctor, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007 in Stephenville. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday December 11, 2007 at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Erath County with Rev. Dale Cartwright officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Leona was born January 27, 1934 in Glen Rose to Fred and Mary Locke Shannon. She married John Houston Boutcher on October 31, 1974 in Stephenville. Leona was a secretary at Tarleton State University and has resided in the Stephenville area most of her life. She was a Baptist. She is survived by her husband John Boutcher of Stephenville; daughter, Judy Kelly of Austin; son John H. Boutcher, Jr. of Stephenville; grandchildren, John Kelly, Michelle Kelly, and Tyler Murdoch; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Kelly and Michael Metz; mother, Lois Shannon of Hico; brother, Edwin Shannon of Duffau; and several nieces and nephews. Leona was preceded in death by her father, and daughters Linda Morrison, and Kristi Murdoch.
