Leon Griffin

Leon Griffin, 84, of Stephenville, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 14, 2021 at the West End Cemetery with Rev. Dale Pugh officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday at the Stephenville Funeral Home.

Leon was born on March 23, 1937 in Stephenville to the late Reid and Opal Packwood Griffin. He married Bobbie Moon on June 26, 1954 in Stephenville, and together they raised two daughters. She preceded him in death on October 6, 2021.Leon worked as a General Superintendent for many years. He was also a member of the Huckabay Baptist Church as well as a Mason and a Shriner.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda Carpenter and husband Russell of Stephenville, grandchildren, Dustin Long of Huckabay, Blade Long and wife Yvonne of Panhandle, Texas, Jade Carpenter of Mississippi, Chase Carpenter and wife Jodi of Stephenville, Cameryn Carpenter of Grand Prairie, and James Carpenter and wife Kenzie of Stephenville; great-grandchildren, Jesi Carpenter, Kale Carpenter, Korbin Carpenter, Kaylor Carpenter, and Kallyn Carpenter all of Stephenville; brothers Bill Griffin and wife Joyce of Stephenville, and Joe Griffin and wife Louise of Stephenville; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Bobbie Griffin; daughter Connie Long; and a grandson, Doug Long.
