Lee Harman Tannahill, Jr. November 3, 1930 - March 19, 2016 Lee Tannahill, 85, of Stephenville, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church 422 W Washington St, Stephenville, TX, with Rev. Howard Martin officiating. Interment will be 2:00 pm at the Mount Olivet Cemetery 2301 N. Sylvania Ave. Fort Worth, TX. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Stephenville Funeral Home 120 W. South Loop Stephenville, Texas. Lee was born on November 3, 1930 in Fort Worth to the late Hartman and Evelyn Tannahill. He was affectionately known by his family and friends as "Buddy". He graduated from North Side High School and from University of North Texas. He married the love of his life, Sara Benham on October 30, 1954 in Fort Worth. He began his teaching career in Ft. Worth at Handley Junior-Senior High School and then became Vice Principal at Eastern Hills High School later becoming Principal at Diamond Hills Jarvis High School. His business interest included Elliott, Tannahill and Taylor, building homes, strip shopping centers and apartments. After serving on the board at Educational Employers Credit Union he became an adviser to build several branch offices for the credit union. He was as avid sports fan playing golf for years and lately watching sports on television. After retiring he has resided in Stephenville for the past 19 years. Lee was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Stephenville. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sara Tannahill of Stephenville; sisters, Betty Stiles of Weatherford, and Bobbie Harbuck of Waco; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Dorothy Bailey. . Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Stephenville 422 W Washington St, Stephenville, TX.
