Lanny Carroll Spikes, 68, of Stephenville, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019 in Stephenville.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Werth Mayes officiating. Interment will follow at the Lower Greens Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
Lanny was born on March 23, 1951 in Dublin to the late Lige and Bobbie Weir Spikes. He married Lavera Calder on August 14, 1981 in Stephenville. Lanny worked for many years as an installer and repairman for Century Link before his retirement. He is a lifelong resident of Erath County and was a member of the Cowboy Church of Erath County.
Survivors include his wife, Lavera of Stephenville; daughter, Melanie Spikes of Stephenville; son, Wade Kilgore and wife Heather of Howe; grandchildren, Blake and Keigan Kilgore of Howe; nephews, Mason Spikes and wife Felicia of Lake Leon, and James Smith and wife Rachel, of Stephenville; great niece and nephew, Triston and Addison Spikes of Lake Leon; and sister-in-law, Jackie Spikes of Lake Leon; and a brother-in-law, Lazelle Calder.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lige and Bobbie Spikes; brother, Randy Spikes; and a niece, Jennifer Spikes.
