La Rue Oakes

Stephenville LaRue Oakes, 90, of Stephenville passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in Stephenville. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, November 19, 2010 in the Rock Church Cemetery in Hood County. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. La Rue was born on January 24, 1920 in Bluff Dale to the late Branch and Zelle Osborn Williams. She married J. T. Oakes on October 16, 1937 in Stephenville. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1973. La Rue resided in Erath County all of her life and was a homemaker. She was a Methodist. La Rue is survived by her brother, James Williams of Bluff Dale; 2 nephews, Jerry Williams of Wylie, Ronnie Baker of Pasadena; and niece, Vickie Williams of Pasadena
