L. C. Stewart Jr.

L.C. Stewart, Jr., 80, of Stephenville, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011 in Stephenville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Derrel Thompson and Glenn Shock officiating. Interment will follow at the West End Cemetery in Stephenville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. L.C. was born February 10, 1931 in Hico to the late L.C. Stewart, Sr. and Ruth Burt Stewart. He married Hula Mae Holley on February 6, 1951 in Hico, and she preceded him in death on February 11, 2011. L.C. has resided in Erath County all of his life. He was the past owner of Stewart Oil Co. from 1969 to 1994, and was previously in the Service Station business. L.C. served in the U.S. Navy on Midway Island and he was a member of the Valley Grove Baptist Church. L.C. is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Lovelace and husband David of Ennis, Connie Lowery and husband Roger of Stephenville, and Laura Iley of Stephenville; grandchildren, Angela Lovelace, Holly Barfield and husband John, Paul Lovelace, Stuart Lowery and wife Margie, Chad Lowery, Amy White, Dustin Hodge, Clayton Iley and fiancée Jenny Elliott, and Amanda Iley; brother, Robert Stewart of Burleson; sister, Carolyn Sue Millington and husband Wayne of Tyler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hula Mae Holley Stewart, mother Ruth Burt Stewart; father, Lafayette Casto (L.C.) Stewart, Sr.; brothers, Von Del Stewart, Gerald Ray Stewart, Vern Lee Stewart; sisters, Cristy Stewart, Lorene Cornett; and a daughter, Karen Sue Stewart Lueck.
