Kenneth D. Bailey

August 14, 1934 — August 16, 2023

Kenneth D. Bailey, 89, of Stephenville, passed away on August 16, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the West End Cemetery in Stephenville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, August 25, at the funeral home.

Kenneth was born on August 14, 1934 in Selden, Texas to the late John Amos Bailey and Elnora Ruth Cork Bailey. He grew up in a loving, Christian household and was baptized at the age of 11. Kenneth married the love of his life, Joy Ann Gristy on April 8, 1955 in Aransas Pass, Texas, and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2017. He worked for Golding Motors in San Saba for 12 years before beginning his travels around the world with Fluor International as a construction and mechanical superintendent. He later returned to Ford Motors for a few years until his retirement. He was a member of the Erath County Cowboy Church in Stephenville. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling, cooking and gardening, but his greatest joy was spending time with family and traveling the world with Joy. His greatest life lesson was to love and support your family unconditionally.

Survivors include his daughters, Debra and husband Chuck Arpe of Stephenville, Brenda and husband Mike Bailey of Ft. Worth, Linda and husband Dwayland Bates of Lampasas, and Barbara and husband Pat Gresham of Belton; grandchildren, Will and wife Sarah Arpe, Jacklyn and husband Kevin Elmer, Laurie Bailey, Tonya and husband Cameron McElyea, Ken and wife Julie Bailey, Crystal White, Brandon Bates, Stephen and wife Shanda Bates, Drew and wife Kayla Gresham, and Shea and wife Caitlin Gresham; 24 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brothers, Doyle Randall Bailey, John A. Bailey, and Quinton Darrell Bailey, Sr.

Memorials may be made to the Erath County Cowboy Church, or to the Erath County Humane Society.
