Jouett A. "Buster" Beverly Jr.

May 25, 1936 — October 3, 2012

Jouett A ‘Buster' Beverly, Jr., 76, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 7th, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with his son-in-law, Jeff Parsons officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Mill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Buster was born on May 25, 1936 in Coryell County to Jouett A. Beverly, Sr. and Myrtle Smith Beverly. He married Rhudene Reagan on June 14, 1958. They resided in Amarillo for the last 35 years, but always referred to Morgan Mill as home. Buster was a member of the Comanche Trail Church of Christ in Amarillo. Buster loved being a truck driver. He drove trucks for several companies before becoming an owner/operator. He retired in 2011. While an owner/operator, inspired by the death of a neighbor's son in the Iraq War, he began decorating his trailer with military graphics depicting the life of the American soldier. His trailer became so well known that he received many requests to drive in area parades and displayed it in military exhibits throughout the state. It was his primary freight trailer he used as he traveled the country. Buster had an outstanding sense of humor. His goal since childhood was to make someone laugh everyday...and he did. Survivors include his wife, Rhudene; son, Allen and wife April Beverly of Oklahoma City; daughters, Kathy and husband Jeff Parsons of Amarillo, Karla and husband Nathan Nunley; grandchildren, Stephanie Orrick, John Nunley, Dr. Kandice Tessneer, Amanda Sindelar, Michael Parsons, Kristin Bandy, and Kourtney Lichtie; great grandchildren, Nathan, Faith, Samuel, Emrie, Eden, and Ezekiel; brothers, Carl Beverly of Anacoco, La. and Jack Beverly of Granbury; sisters, Grace Woods of Burleson and Alvaretta Atherton of Hurst; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Buster was also preceded in death by sisters, Eloise and Ann; and brothers, Bill, Clyde, Wayne, Julius, and Wendell. The Family would like the thank BSA Hospice for their outstanding care of Buster over the past week. Memorials may be made to High Plains Children's Home, 11461 S. Western St. Amarillo, Tx, 79118.
