Johnny Derrell West

Johnny Derrell West, 65, of Stephenville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 9, 2022.

Memorial services for Johnny will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Ben McCleery and Doug McLemore officiating.  Visitation with the West family will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral Home

Johnny was born on January 7, 1957, in Cleburne, to the late James Ray and Viva Loraine Wesson West.  He attended public school in Stephenville, and was a member of the SHS class of 1975.  Johnny married his favorite back-road riding partner, Lisa Kay Darby on July 1, 1978 in Selden.  As a master stone mason, Johnny founded and operated West Masonry, which has well-served the greater Erath County community for 47 years. A lifelong resident of Stephenville, Johnny enjoyed his family and friends, his music, and showing off his beloved 1970 Chevy truck, “Green”, at the Cars and Coffee at the Courthouse event every month.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Lisa; daughters, Darby and her husband O. J. Hernandez of Stephenville, and Amanda Mull and her husband Wade Pack of Oregon, Illinois; grandchildren, Hayden West Hernandez and Jaxon Anthony Hernandez; sisters, Connie and her husband Larry Vines of Burleson, and Caroline and her husband Ace Walker of Stephenville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many lifelong friends.  He is also survived by his four Jack Russell Terriers; Radley, Heck, Harper, and Atticus.

Besides his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by brothers, Charles West, Gordon West, and Alan West; nephew, Mac Welch; and his much beloved dog, Scout. In lieu of flowers, Johnny would be greatly honored by donations made to the Erath County Humane Society.
