Johnny King

Johnny King, 93, of Stephenville, passed away Monday, September 3, 2007 in Parker County. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 7, 2007 at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sharon Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville. Johnny was born on May 5, 1914 in Dundee, Ohio to the late Budd and Tilly Lehner King. He married Elda Cain on October 1, 1935 in Ohio and she passed away in 1995. He married Elwanda Mayfield in 1964 and she preceded him in death on September 13, 2002. Johnny has resided in Texas since 1947. He was a General Contractor and a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church in Erath County. Survivors include: sons, Wayne King and wife Peg of Montrose, CO, and Jimmy King and wife Beverly of Mineral Wells; daughters, Darlene King of Aledo, and Tanya Prosise and husband Tommy of Stephenville; sister Cora Dick of Ohio and brother, Harley King of Ohio; grandchildren, Ken Tammy, Rhonda, Rusty, Susie, John, Chessney, Baylor, and Layne; and nine great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Makenzie; and 8 brothers and sisters.
